WCF Insurance 100th Anniversary Art
WCF Insurance’s art reflect the company’s 100-year legacy of protecting workers. Their motto, “Be Careful Out There,” is engraved on a brass ribbon, with safety as a major theme for the retrospective. Founded in 1917, when Utah’s Legislature passed a workers’ compensation act requiring all employers to have insurance for their employees, WCF Insurance has evolved as an innovative national insurance company committed to employees, policyholders and the communities they serve.
The artwork’s shape suggests a stop sign (Stop and Think First!), with an inner border of yellow and black striped “warning” tape. The centerpiece of WCF logo is surrounded by a vignette of safety equipment, vintage and current, and an actual WCF hardhat. Inner sides communicate a timeline of accomplishments, photoengraved in brass. A filmstrip of TV commercials flows through the more current history.
