St. Bernardine Medical Center

Size of the art: 32" x 32" x 5"

This 3-dimensional retrospective collage commemorates the first 75 years of St. Bernardine Medical Center and reflects the legacy of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. A slanted brass border features a timeline of history and accomplishments. The walnuts and oranges within the art symbolize the hospital’s founding during The Great Depression, when nuns were sometimes paid with food–often local California walnuts and oranges.
