In 1907 my grandmother created this OSU pillowcase for beau Cree Sheets, a civil engineering student. With the Fiesta Bowl tomorrow, we celebrate a strong 3-generation Buckeye tradition that runs from my grandparents and dad to our treasured Ohio State family and friends 110 years later. These kinds of photos and amazing keepsakes are the stuff of great stories and great One of A Kind collages.

Edith Sheets, a wonderful mother, grandmother and lifelong Ohio State fan. She created the OSU pillow for her future husband in 1907.

Cree Sheets graduated from OSU’s College of Civil Engineering in 1909. He was a member of the Ohio State Varsity Track team and later worked as an Engineering instructor for his mentor Professor Thomas Ewing French, for whom French Field House is named.

Looking forward to our next visit to Ohio–and the unveiling in March of One Of A Kind art to commemorate another great Ohio success story.“How firm thy friendship…OHIO!” Go Bucks!
