SAMPLE ART USA Today
Size: 35" x 30" x 9"
Unveiled at Gannett's 5th Anniversary Celebration
for USA TODAY
Installed in the headquarters of The Freedom Forum, Washington,
D.C.
To honor USA TODAY's founder, Romorini located
a 1926 Royal typewriter identical to the one that
Allen Neuharth used as a cub reporter. A first edition of USA TODAY
flows from the typewriter carriage, accented with a red, white and
blue ribbon, celebrating the nation's first national newspaper.
Mr. Neuharth's key executives are on the typewriter keys. A shaft
of South Dakota wheat and World War II dog tags reflect the founder's
beginnings.
