Golden State Foods Presents Their “Best In Fleet” Winners with One Of A Kind Custom Awards

For the third year in a row, Golden State Foods commissioned One Of A Kind Art Studio to create the ultimate trophy–a custom, 3-dimensional collage–for the winners of their “Best In Fleet” annual awards. These awards are given each year to the company’s best delivery fleet and warehouse operation. Each award is given based on a demanding list of criteria. (more…)


30 Years of One Of A Kind Success!

It’s hard to believe that One Of A Kind Art Studio has now been creating our signature brand of 3-dimensional commemorative artwork for 30 years. The time has flown by. The studio began working out of the home of Founders Lawrence Romorini and Donna Rome, with USA Today’s 5th anniversary as the first corporate commission. The studio relocated in 1990 to resurgent Silver Spring, MD, just minutes from Washington, D.C Since then, over 1,100 custom works of art have been created for clients large and small (see the latest).

Looking back to 1985, it’s fun to reflect on some of the amazing events that happened that founding year, and our own connection to many of them. (more…)

For 10 years, we have been most fortunate to collaborate with American Society of Civil Engineers’ Executive Director Patrick Natale on extraordinary and inspiring 3-dimensional commemorative art. His leadership, accomplishments and attention to detail are indeed One Of A Kind!

Lawrence and I attended a reception this week honoring Pat’s retirement—a bittersweet occasion—made exciting by the fact that the next day, Pat would be presented with his own ASCE 3-dimensional collage at an ASCE staff tribute. (more…)


Remembering World AIDS Day Through Photos

December 1st marks World AIDS Day, and each year it brings back memories of one of the last times the AIDS Quilt (The Names Project) was shown as a complete piece on 10/1992. It drew thousands of people to the National Mall in Washington to experience this memorial to those who had died from AIDS and help people to understand the disease’s overwhelming impact. (more…)

A recent visit to Nashville’s Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum proved a special treat, coinciding with their exhibit honoring the career of Kenny Rogers. Studies Show “Art Heals” — 6 Ways Art Inspires Patients and Staff

As scientists study how our physical environment affects us, we are learning that the art in hospitals is more important than we ever imagined. There is now a large body of research behind the selection of evidence-based art, this method of choosing artwork focuses on this research and aims to help hospital administrators make decisions that are scientific rather than purely aesthetic. Some visual elements, particularly artwork that includes natural themes and people, have shown to be beneficial to patient recovery and staff morale.
