Florida Realtors Celebrates 100 Years of Being “The Voice for Real Estate in Florida”

Florida Realtors®, The Voice for Real Estate in Florida®, unveiled One Of A Kind 3-dimensional art by Lawrence Romorini at their Great American Realtors Days and Mid-Winter business meetings to launch the organization’s centennial year. Themed “The Sun and the Sea”, this 100th anniversary art contains scores of miniaturized photos, publications, logos, brochures and tools of the profession to showcase Florida Realtors® first century. The retrospective will travel again in August to display at Florida Realtors®’ annual meeting.

The artwork preserves favorite memories of the newlyweds and their families, the wedding, reception and much more in a custom-designed gift that continues to be enjoyed years later. Wye Oak: The Life of a Tree

On this day in history, June 6, in 2002, the Wye Oak, the honorary state tree of Maryland, fell during a severe thunderstorm. It was believed to be over 460 years old and the largest White Oak in the United States. The remarkable tree measured 31 feet 10 inches around, 96 feet high, with branches spreading over 119 feet.

The state of Maryland collected the wood, and awarded it to a number of woodworkers and artists to commemorate the tree and its history. Artist Lawrence Romorini was one of the fortunate few to receive a branch from the tree. (more…)


Studies Show “Art Heals” — 6 Ways Art Inspires Patients and Staff

As scientists study how our physical environment affects us, we are learning that the art in hospitals is more important than we ever imagined. There is now a large body of research behind the selection of evidence-based art, this method of choosing artwork focuses on this research and aims to help hospital administrators make decisions that are scientific rather than purely aesthetic. Some visual elements, particularly artwork that includes natural themes and people, have shown to be beneficial to patient recovery and staff morale.
